All 4 corner units done and ready for assembly.

After finishing all the strips and diamonds, it was time to start putting this baby together.

4 border print triangles added in the centre

and diamonds added around the outside

No progress on this quilt however this week as the migraines is getting to be a weekly thing.

Finally all the panels needed for this quilt is completed.  8 of these diamonds in pairs of 2 cut at different angles and widths from the strips I wrote about in Summer Lily 3.

Now for compiling the top!

Summer Lily 3

I have been stitching away at all the panels needed for this quilt.  At the moment I am busy stitching diamonds consisting of 8 sets of strips of different widths.

All of them started with the same 8 strips

which are then advanced by adding a lighter colour at the bottom, losing the darkest at the top 

until ending up with these 8 strips.

All of these are then again cut up into strips of different widths at set angles giving these beautiful diagonal stripes.

I started stitching these strips together only to find out that that is not as easy as it might look!  But nothing worth while happens overnight, so I'll just keep on stitching, unpicking, stitching and unpicking again until all 64 (!)  strips are done.

Summer Lily 2

This quilt's 29 fabrics are all cut into strips of different lengths and widths and I have started to stitch the different panels together.

All the different strips ready to be turned into a queen size quilt.

The first 6 panels completed.  I just love the colours!

New Projects 2019

It's a new year and time for a new project, or 2 or 3...  Whilst at home during December, I decided to start with 2 quilts that I have been putting of for a few years now to work on all my unfinished projects.  But I am done waiting now and started to cut these beauties.

First up these 24 x 0.5m fabrics were cut up into 6 x 2.5" strips each for a queen size quilt.

I then cut the fabric for the frame as well as the border for my mystery quilt.

And lastly I started cutting this gorgeous bundle of 30 Jinny Beyer fabrics for another Queen size quilt.

I am so excited to start these 2 quilts at last!  Just a pity I still have to work full time...
