Stained glass pictures

My husband finished framing and hanging all the embroidered stained glass pictures and they are absolutely beautiful.

I also put the Heritage Quilt on our bed in place of the Latte Quilt which was on our bed since 2010.

The Latte Quilt - an extremely old photo from before the fire of 2014.
(The very first quilt I made - this post as well as this one refers.)

The two done in shades of purple below are in the guest room complimenting the satin/tafetta quilt I made in 2015.

Advanced beginner quilt

I added a turquoise border to the remaining butterfly which brought out the colors beautifully and gifted it to a dear friend of mine who had it framed in silver.

So proud of these beautiful embroideries.

Stained Glass Wall Hangings 6

I manage to finish this one as well, the last one (for now) 😉  Also still in need of a border though.

As I bought the 8x8 size, I had to split some of the designs as my 7x8 frame was a bit too small.  Luckily Embird basic made that a breeze and by carefully planning the split, it is not easily detectable.

This design used 4 neon colours which is layered with other colours creating beautiful shades.  I did buy a set a few years ago and was able to put to use now.  Luckily it hadn't age badly and still hold up well.

Will hopefully be shortly framed.  My husband unfortunately did not buy all the supplies needed before our 21 day lockdown started. 😓

This beautiful design can be bought here.

Stained Glass Wall Hangings - 5

I've been embroidering this one as well as the Stained Glass Seahorse in between the playmats I am also working on.  Having been housebound as a result of the Covid-19 lockdown does keep one committed to finishing projects.  I still need to add the satin border, but as all shops that do not sell essentials are closed for 21 days, this will have to wait.  I might find a piece in my stash though.

Another beautiful design from BFC Creations

Stained Glass Wall hangings - 4

Another one of these beauties finished, just waiting to be framed.

Whilst embroidering the different pieces, it looks rather ordinary but when starting to combine the whole piece, it comes to life and turns into a gorgeous piece.  Utterly rewarding after the many hours of embroidering.

The design is available here.

Well ,as promised this is truly a stunner.  After embroidering the last 4 panels, the wall hanging could be assembled.  So, if you want to embroider one of these beauties, you can find the designs here.

Below are photo's of the other 4 panels before assembling.

Stained Glass Wall hangings - 1

It's a new day and a new project under way.  With no embroidery projects waiting to be finished, I looked at my Embroidery Wish List and decided to start with these beautiful wall hangings.

With today being a public holiday, I manage to embroider half of the panels needed for this wall hanging which will be 14.2" x 19.8" (35.5 x 49.5 cm) once finished.

Each panel measures approximately 6" x 8" and took between 70 to 140 minutes each stitching time, with an average of 15 thread changes and between 40 000 to 80 000 stitches each as well as having to clear the odd crow's nests every now and then.  But it will be well worth it in the end.
