For 2026's National Quilt Day, the South African Quilters' Guild choose the curved log cabin pattern. I have been wanting to stitch this pattern ever since watching Donna Jordan's video using a jelly roll. Using one of the roll's my husband bought me for my birthday in December and some prints from my stash with cream for the background, I started stitching the 16 blocks required. And this is the completed quilt.
The quilting was done by starting off with a spiral machine embroidery design in the center and then just continue stitching round and round which I think compliment the rounded effect of the log cabin blocks.
The spiral machine embroidery design is available in my shop here.
Below is a close-up of the background fabrics showing the different prints used.
