The Art of Quilting Sampler Quilt - Blocks 25-28

After having yet again major problems with our internet and numerous calls, a technician was finally send out last week and it looks like the problem was finally fixed.  I am completely finished with our current service provider.  Now if only I could get them to cancel the current contract, I can migrate the line to another service provider.  This process is ongoing for the last month already and yet again, nothing is happening.

That said and done, I stitched another 4 blocks of this quilt.  The next four issues is again way overdue.  Africa time.

Innovative Quilt

Seven of our group members (Rotary Cutters) started an Innovative Quilt as our project for 2013 at home of one of our Guild's teachers, Iessie Steenberg (read her blog here) at the end of January.  Iessie prepared 4 different patterns from which we could choose.  Two florals, one with butterflies and one with owls.

After struggling to decide between the butterflies and owls, I asked my husband to choose and he picked the owls.  The first block look likes this after appliqueing.

Now for the real hard work, adding embroidery, beads, crystals, ribbons etc.

Charity Quilt - Part 4

The Charity Quilt (read this post) did not get finished last year as we had hoped.  We are currently busy stitching all the blocks together and is trying to get it finished in time for the annual Show (Fair).

Sonja and Jolita of our group stitched these 9 patches as one of our former group members, Natasha moved to Centurion before her blocks was done.

These applique blocks was Jolita Geel's contribution.  She is also going to free motion the quilt for us.  Unfortunately, she has since decided to leave our group.  Although we share the same very rare surname, we are not family.

The last 4 blocks was done by Sonja Snyman.

The completed quilt is going to be a real beauty.
