Kaleidoscope

This quilt I wrote about way back in December 2012, is finally finished and just in time to be used as a lap quilt for the coming winter.

Lily was inspecting it all the way

and made sure she was the first one to try it out.

Kaleidoscope runner

I made this runner a year ago whilst on holiday but was not allowed to post any photo's of it as it was made for our Quilt Festival.  With the festival now under way, I can finally showcase this beautiful runner.

Although it is only 15 blocks stitched together, it took 2 days to complete as it is quite time consuming.  It was done using the paper foundation technique.

With the 2013 17th National Quilt Festival coming up in my hometown (read all bout it here), it was decided that our first challenge for 2013 is a Kaleidoscope quilt as it is also the theme for the festival.   What better time to finish mine then.  Now I only have to finish it in about a month's time....
