Shadow Trapunto Quilt 1

For 2019, our quilting group (the Rotary Cutters) decided to stitch Shadow Trapunto Quilts.  My daughter bought me this book by Geta Grama and we each choose a pattern.

I decided on the Indian Summer pattern and enlarge it to make two identical wall hangings for my bedroom measuring 600 x 800mm.

Indian Summer

The pattern was printed on paper and pinned to a layer of organza and 1/2" thick batting.

The whole pattern is then stitched with invisible thread.  Below is a picture taken of the back after all the stitching was done.

And now for the careful and tedious process of cutting the excess batting away without snipping the organza layer.

This will keep busy and out of mischief for quite some time!
