Birthday Presents

This year I started early with our quilting group's birthday presents and have all of them done already.  I used the Bumblebee Mini Mitt design of A Stitch and a Half and just replace the Bumblebee with different motifs from the Time for Tea collection from the same designer.

Now they will each have a handy mitt to use in the kitchen for those hot pot handles.

Mystery Quilt

After or latest clue we were left with 36 each of the following two colorways, combining last month's blocks with Clue 1.

They do create a beautiful ensemble when placing 4 of each in a square with the little boat shapes of clue 1 actually forming a stripe.

The next clue is set to be revealed June the 19th which will be the last one before starting to combine the blocks. Will have to wait and see if they will be stitched in this order.

Alzheimer Sensory Blankets

It's been a few weeks since my last post.  I am busy with various projects all in different stages, some of which are birthday presents, so I am not able to post pictures about them as the birthdays is still upcoming.

I did however finish the two Alzheimer Sensory Blankets our quilting group made (this previous post refers)  Our guild will be donating this on Saturday at our next general meeting.

Heritage Quilt Block 11

I finally got another block done and with that only 3 remains.  I am so glad this quilt is finally getting done.  Can't wait to see the end result which I think will look stunning - compliments to Jenny Haskins.

Mystery Quilt

We received the next clue at our meeting last Tuesday and stitched the next set of 72 blocks in two colour ways.  These were a bit more labour intensive with a total of 360 pieces joined and all the seams ironed open.  I fuzzy cut some of the blocks to create the effect I wanted.

Bunny's Galore

It was merely coincidence that I was busy embroidering bunny themed baby stuff at the time that pageant religions pay homage to the so called easter bunny.

An ex-colleague of mine ordered 2 spit cloths adorned with bunny's as the nursery is set up with a bunny theme as well as a very cute "future triathlete" caricature as the new little one's Daddy partakes in this grueling sport.

For the bunnies, I used the Morehead Bountiful Bunnies which can be bought at Sew for Less

and combined different embroidery designs and add lettering to make up this ensemble.

I then continue with another 2 spit clots as part of my gift using the same set of embroidery designs.  As the baby's sex was still unknown at the time of the baby shower, I stayed with neutral colours and was not able to add the little one's name.

I also embroidered another one of Inspiration Mutz's Bunny Doorstops which can be found here.

Sea Glass design

I was finally able to finish this design and upload it to my store.  I actually embroidered it twice as I entered the first one in the  Sew ...
