Outreach Quilt

On Tuesday night at our first meeting of the year, the Rotary Cutters stitched blocks for an Outreach Project of our Guild (Oranjequilters).  A fellow quilter donated the fabric and we used a technique illustrated by another Group at one of last years' quarterly meetings.  The 12.5" blocks will be cut in 4 and then assembled to form a lap quilt.  It is also linked to the Challenge for the second term.  Afterwards al the finished quilts will be donated to Dewetsdorp's Old Age Home.

This is how the 20 blocks looks thus far:

Baby Shoes

These adorable baby shoes pattern was included as a project in one of the Art of Quilting magazines and I just had to sew a few pairs for Grandson Aiden - now 8 weeks old and 4.5kg.  Using fabric from my stash, it took only a few days to finish.

Track Suit

I finished a track suit intended for my son, Trevor jr, but as he is already 14, the track suit will now go to Aiden - our grandson who is now 7 weeks old.  Why I haven't finished it at the time, I really don't know.  All that needs to be done, was to add the ribbing.

The finished track suit for 2 to 3 year.

Aiden Matthew Driver born 12 December 2013 - on my birthday!

5th Simply Chic Carryall finished

The 5th Simply Chic Carry All I wrote about in this post, is finished.  I gave the bag to a dear friend and former colleague (of about 25 years) of mine, Sonia Botes.  She wanted one ever since she saw mine and when she was retrenched last November, I decided to make her one just to say thank you for her friendship, her prayers for me and my family and for just being there all these years.
