I finally got another block done and with that only 3 remains. I am so glad this quilt is finally getting done. Can't wait to see the end result which I think will look stunning - compliments to Jenny Haskins.

Mystery Quilt
We received the next clue at our meeting last Tuesday and stitched the next set of 72 blocks in two colour ways. These were a bit more labour intensive with a total of 360 pieces joined and all the seams ironed open. I fuzzy cut some of the blocks to create the effect I wanted.

Bunny's Galore
It was merely coincidence that I was busy embroidering bunny themed baby stuff at the time that pageant religions pay homage to the so called easter bunny.
An ex-colleague of mine ordered 2 spit cloths adorned with bunny's as the nursery is set up with a bunny theme as well as a very cute "future triathlete" caricature as the new little one's Daddy partakes in this grueling sport.

and combined different embroidery designs and add lettering to make up this ensemble.
I then continue with another 2 spit clots as part of my gift using the same set of embroidery designs. As the baby's sex was still unknown at the time of the baby shower, I stayed with neutral colours and was not able to add the little one's name.
I also embroidered another one of Inspiration Mutz's Bunny Doorstops which can be found here.

Alzheimer Sensory Blanket
Our Guild is donating sensory blankets for Alzheimers patients this year for an outreach project. Our group each made blocks that I will stitch into a quilt this coming week.

And mine.
We all played around using different textures adding different activities to keep those hands busy. I am really looking forward to seeing the final product.

Misc Embroidery
I am still working on various projects that have been laying around forever. As I changed my kitchen's theme to chickens after the fire in 2014, I just had to add chickens to these serviettes.
I added two rows of rick rack around the outside to finish off the border. I just love the affect it creates.
I also embroidered two lawn bowls sport towels for my husband using Embird - the best and cheapest (for what it can do) embroidery editing software out there.
Whilst on the topic of embroidery, fixing small mistakes with permanent markers can be really helpful. After reading on various websites about Sharpies, I bought myself a set of 24 as a belated birthday present from my quilting group.

Mystery Quilt
Our quilting group started with a Mystery Quilt as 2018's project. Everyone makes her own double bed quilt with her own selection of fabrics but everybody is doing the same mystery. It is promising to deliver beautiful masterpieces when looking at all the different color schemes.
At this stage we are still stuck making 72 of each clue. Clue 1 was a real challenge cutting 72 of these little boat shapes
Clue 2 was a breeze cutting strips, stitching them together and cutting 72 blocks.
This set the pace for Clue 3 with yet again 72 blocks.
Clue 4, yep you guessed it, 72 but this time triangles.
Now to wait patiently for the next clue in a months time.

Heritage Quilt
Block 10 is done and only 4 more blocks to go.
As with all the other blocks Jenny Haskins yet again taught different techniques with this one. This time with the wing needle and ladder stitch.
I needed a 6mm double needle for this block, but could only find the 4mm so I had to make do. Only our Pfaff dealer sells the 6mm (and 8mm for that matter) but was unfortunately awaiting stock. All the other shops thought I was rather mad (?) even telling me I would have to import one then! Really?
This is what the finished block looks like:
